Travellers keen to witness the spectacle of the Aurora Borealis in Canada’s North will benefit from the return of Air North’s seasonal non-stop service between Vancouver, BC, and Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.
The route will resume on Monday 24 November 2025, perfectly timed for the Aurora winter season. Flights will operate twice weekly until 27 March 2026, offering visitors greater flexibility when travelling to and from the Northwest Territories.
The airline’s decision to reinstate the service has been met with enthusiasm by regional tourism leaders, particularly in light of growing interest in northern experiences like the Aurora Borealis, ice fishing, and Indigenous cultural tourism.
“Northwest Territories Tourism is very excited to welcome back Air North’s seasonal non‑stop service between Vancouver and Yellowknife,” said Donna Lee Demarcke, Chief Executive Officer of Northwest Territories Tourism.
“The reinstated route highlights Air North’s continued commitment to supporting the Northwest Territories and our businesses.”
Bookings are now open for the Boeing 737 flights which start at CA$139 and include complimentary meals, checked and carry-on baggage, as well as “Air North’s famous warm chocolate chip cookie and friendly service.”
