Sofitel Porto to mark Accor’s luxury debut in the Portuguese city

The new hotel, the second Sofitel in Portugal, will launch in 2028

Accor will launch its first luxury hotel in Porto in 2028 when the newly signed Sofitel Porto, its second Sofitel in Portugal, will open its doors.

The second collaboration between the French hotel giant and real estate firm Propreal Capital Partners, following Sofitel Barcelona Skipper, the hotel will be strategically located in the heart of the city between Avenida dos Aliados and Rua de Santa Catarina.

With 132 rooms, Sofitel Porto will span 11,000 square metres with vast public spaces, carefully designed green spaces and multiple dining concepts with potential partnerships with Portuguese celebrity chefs.

โ€œTrue to our brand promise of building cultural bridges between French and local cultures, Sofitel Porto will further strengthen the deep-rooted connection between Portugal and France.โ€

The propertyโ€™s protected faรงade will be carefully preserved, while the interior design, led by renowned designer Lรกzaro Rosa-Violรกn, will highlight the buildingโ€™s identity, fusing โ€œPortuguese artistryโ€ with โ€œFrench refinementโ€.

Propreal Founder and CEO Yves de Kerdanet highlighted the Iberian Peninsula as a โ€œkey focusโ€ for the investment firm.

Meanwhile, Xavier Grange, Chief Development Officer for Sofitel, Sofitel Legend, MGallery & Emblems, flagged more Portuguese properties ahead.
