The name of Crystalbrook Collection‘s new-build Canberra hotel has been revealed as Crystalbrook Aurora, as construction of the 225-key hotel ramps up.
Hoarding is now in place and the groundwork is underway at the site opposite the Canberra Centre on Garema Place, with the property on track to open in early 2027.
The new name has been inspired by the idea of a new dawn, with the new property heralding a โfresh chapterโ for Canberraโs hospitality scene, according to Crystalbrook.

The new hotelโs design draws on Canberraโs rich architectural heritage and iconic civic style, with a curved facade inspired by nearby parliamentary buildings. The interiors also pay homage to the capitalโs origins, particularly the influence of Marion Mahony Griffin, one of the worldโs first licensed female architects and a vital figure in the cityโs founding story.
At 10 storeys high, Crystalbrook Aurora will become a new landmark on the city skyline, according to TP Dynamics Founder Tony Pan. โWe are incredibly proud of our partnership with Crystalbrook Collection and together we are delighted to build a legacy for the city as part of central Canberraโs revitalisation,โ he said.
Other features of the hotel include a modern European rooftop restaurant, ground floor dining and luxury retail offerings, flexible meeting and event spaces, and a dedicated wellness precinct with Crystalbrookโs signature Elรฉme Day Spa, sauna, pool, and gym facilities.CEO of Crystalbrook Collection Geoff York identified the companyโs Canberra debut as a โstrategic investmentโ as well as an opportunity to โshape the next era of Australian hospitalityโ.
โWith visitor expenditure in the ACT reaching $3.6 billion in the year to December 2024, and projected to reach $5 billion by 2030, Canberra remains a significant tourism market,โ he said.
โAlongside our local partners, TP Dynamics, led by Tony Pan, weโre proud to be delivering a hospitality offering that supports the cityโs long-term growth, providing new world-class dining, meeting, and event spaces for both visitors and the local community.โ
Sustainability will be front and centre of the new propertyโs offering, in line with Crystalbrookโs โindustry-leadingโ approach to responsible luxury. Crystalbrook Aurora will contribute to group-wide targets across emissions, energy, water and waste. Onsite, guests can also expect 100% waste-free bathrooms, recycled timber key cards and coat hangers, zero-waste coffee capsules via TerraCycle and โClimate Caloriesโ labelling.
